Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How is my sewer bill calculated?

A: There is a base rate for sewer services based upon water meter size. Cost above the base rate is calculated by water usage. The wastewater collection system (Sewer Department) and wastewater treatment (Elden Kuehl Pollution Control Facility) are supported through sewer costs.

Q: What is considered a minimum bill for water and sewer?

The billing for water and sewer depends on the size of your water meter and your water consumption. Click here to view / print down our Minimum Bill Table.

Q: Do I have to tie into the city sewer system if I am on a septic system and there is a sewer main in front of my house?

A: No. The city does not require city residents to tie into the city sewer system if the resident's septic system is operating properly. However, the resident will have to tie into the city sewer system if the existing septic system starts to fail.
