All Residential 5/8" and 3/4" Accounts - $50.00

All other accounts: Based on 3 xs Minimum Bill rounded to the nearest $5.00.

1. Government Offices, Public Schools, Colleges/ Universities and Churches do not pay Deposits.

2. ROTATING DEPOSIT: A property owner on residential property will be allowed to pay one $50.00 deposit to be held on file and used when service is automatically left on in the owner’s name whenever a tenant moves out.

3. CONTRACTOR’S DEPOSIT: Each contractor requesting a water meter shall be required to pay a $50.00 deposit . The deposit will be good for multiple meters. Contractor’s Deposits will be held on file and will not be returned until the contractor requests it be returned because he is no longer doing any construction in Valparaiso. Developers of a sub-division, that will never actually
be building anything on that property will not be required to pay a Contractor’s Deposit with the main extension.

4. Any customer opening a second, third, fourth, etc., account will be subject to the credit history of their current account. If they have had their deposit refunded for good credit, they will not have to pay an additional deposit for the new address.

5. A customer who has left our service area and has been gone for more than two years, does not have an immediate credit history to check, shall be required to pay another deposit until he establishes a new 24 month history. Anyone not meeting the refund requirements at a previous address will be required to pay a deposit for service.

6. The Board of Directors has determined that ACH (Automated Clearing House-an automatic withdraw from a customer's bank account) is a benefit both to our customers and the Department and has adopted a policy affecting customer deposits. New residential customers may have their water deposit waived if they sign up for ACH (Automated Clearing House-an automatic withdraw from a customer's bank account) provision for payment of their monthly bills. The Waiver of Deposit Form must be completed along with the ACH Application.
