Mark Geskey was awarded with the Water Wheel Award by the Indiana Section of the American Water Works Association in March of 2016. The award honors those who, like a water wheel, have generated positive energy to benefit the water supply profession, the community and the American Water Works Association.
"I was surprised and humbled by the award as I had no idea it was going to happen," said Mark. "The award is very cool and it is nice to be recognized," he said. Mark serves as Collection and Distribution Manager for the Utilities and has worked with the city for 24 years. He has also been a member of the AWWA for 24 years and has served in a number of ways, including District Chairman and Vice President of the Indiana Section and currently serves as Trustee of the Northwest District and as a member of the VCU Safety Committee.
"Valparaiso City Utilities has a history of individuals who volunteer their efforts to the section. We appreciate Mark's commitment to the industry and congratulate him on the honor that has been bestowed upon him," said Steve Poulos, Utilities Director.
